LarbitsSisters

Under the name LarbitsSisters, Laure-Anne and Bénédicte Jacobs form a duo. The issues surrounding the regulation of the Internet, privacy and digital identity form the starting point for their interventions. On each occasion the challenge is unique : to examine the political, ethical and legal implications, by exploring plastic motives in digital media. A major part of their artistic approach lies in the exploration of the digital technologies of web 2.0. For the duo, their customs and practices are above all materials and tools, of investigation, creation and innovation allowing works to be developed that question the critical issues of today’s society.

The user, in real time, lovelifes soaps, customised from data taken from his profile. Through the comic and harmless side, the user becomes drawn in and experiences from the inside the setbacks of using personal data. MyMiniMaxiLoveLife thus explores the limits of social networks sites, examining the way in which the 2.0 digital environments reconfigure human relations.
