The Corpus Mutatus project consists of different elements translated by several artistic media. It will be presented to the public in a precise place and for a precise length of time. It may be defined as taking the form of a danced, written piece, falling in many aspects under the art of performance but which could be considered as a fully-fledged show through its ability to respond to the demands of theatrical and choreographical representation. Corpus Mutatus tells the story, or state of life, of a character ‘ J. ’ A young woman confronted with her image, the image of her body, of what she does or does not ingest, of what she does or does not feel, indeed of what she puts into it. Corpus Mutatus is written around the relationship between the development of the human psyche and the awareness of one’s image, or images. Consequently, we have naturally moved towards different technologies to mix them, superimpose them, to create a shift of references linked to the aspects and textures of these same technologies. The recurrent questioning of Caroline Michaud- Nérard on the gap between virtual and real, and between their perceptions, leads her to understand to what extent the nature of the signal of an image and its style influences these same perceptions. She and Alice Tiezzi therefore wish, beyond the course taken by their character ‘ J. ’, to bring these differences in perception to life with relevance for the audience. As much as ‘ J. ’ lives through her mirrors to the point where she breaks them, perhaps Corpus Mutatus will itself become a mirror for the public. The cave you can leave
