Beards I Daemonie

Beards 1 Daemonie, the first part of the Beards trilogy, was created in 2007 for the European Prospero project, as a coproduction with the Théâtre de la Place in Liege, the TNB, Théâtre National de Bretagne, the ERT, Emilia Romagna Teatro, Bozar and Ars Musica. In the light of the new digital tools, he embarked with Beards on a reflexion on the opera orchestra. As he conceives it, he articulates in real time the various media present on the stage. To do this, he uses Karlax, an innovative midi-interface capable of handling the entire digital signal in real time, using the physical impulses of the performer. With regard to software, a series of patches were created on Max/MSP. Difficulties soon appeared that made it impossible to combine all the media on one and the same machine. In the end, Karlax handled only the sound. Three years after that adventure, he managed to find a solution
